Your Independent Bergen County Escort
Your Favorite New Jersey Redhead
Bergen County is home turf for me, which means I don’t need Waze to convince you I know my way around. I know where we can dress up for a beautiful dinner, where to disappear for a cozy hotel night, and where we can do something considerably less sophisticated when we’re in the mood to play.
Maybe we’re getting dressed up for dinner along the Hudson, seeing a show in Englewood, spending an afternoon getting pampered in Edgewater, or discovering exactly how competitive I become when you put a mini golf club in my hand. (Fun fact: I’m equal parts competitive and terrible at mini golf.) I’m just as happy trading all of that for room service, pajamas, and getting cozy between the sheets.
If you’re local, here for business, visiting family, or escaping Manhattan for a night, come spend some time with your favorite redhead right here in Bergen County.
Where I Meet in Bergen County
Bergen County packs an absurd amount into a relatively small corner of New Jersey. From the Hudson River and George Washington Bridge to Route 17, quiet little downtowns and the chaos that is American Dream, we have plenty of places to build a date around.
I consider dates throughout Bergen County, with some of my most common meeting areas below.
Paramus & Hackensack
Paramus | Hackensack | Fair Lawn | Rochelle Park
Paramus isn’t going to win any awards for being New Jersey’s most romantic town, but hear me out.
It’s incredibly convenient, there are plenty of hotels, and we’re surrounded by enough restaurants, shopping and entertainment that figuring out what to do together is a breeze. We can catch a movie, find somewhere yummy for dinner, or wander around Garden State Plaza accumulating snacks and trinkets.
Just don’t plan our shopping date for Sunday. After all, my dear, it is Bergen County.
Hackensack gives us even more restaurant options nearby, plus The Shops at Riverside if you’re in the mood for a date that is half-bookstore, half-steakhouse. You might call it the best of both worlds.
If you’re traveling for work or staying along the Route 17 corridor, Paramus is the easiest places for me to meet you without turning our date into an elaborate logistical exercise.
Fort Lee & Englewood
Fort Lee | Englewood | Leonia | Tenafly
Fort Lee keeps us close enough to Manhattan to enjoy the view, without making us deal with the headache of actually going into the city.
There are several hotels around the George Washington Bridge, a fantastic international food scene, and beautiful views along the Palisades when we want to get outside for a little while. It’s particularly convenient if you’re splitting your time between New Jersey and NYC but would rather have our date on this side of the river.
Nearby Englewood is better when we want a proper night out. We can find somewhere delicious along Palisade Avenue, catch a concert or comedy show at bergenPAC, and head back somewhere cozy when we’ve had enough of being respectable in public.
Edgewater & The Hudson
Edgewater | Fort Lee | Cliffside Park
Edgewater is one of Bergen County’s easiest little staycation spots. We can make an afternoon out of SoJo Spa Club, grab something delicious afterward, wander along the waterfront, and watch the skyline light up across the Hudson.
If you’re staying in one of the waterfront hotels, even better. This is an especially good area for an extended afternoon, evening date, or overnight when you want our time together to feel like a tiny getaway without actually going very far.
Teaneck & the Glenpointe Area
Teaneck | Hackensack | Englewood
Teaneck might not immediately scream romantic getaway, but it makes a whole lot of sense if you’re traveling through Bergen County.
The Glenpointe area has several substantial hotels and is incredibly convenient to the highways, George Washington Bridge and the rest of eastern Bergen County. That makes it an easy home base if you’re here for business, an event, or spending part of your trip in Manhattan.
Arranging time together in Teaneck doesn’t mean we’re stuck eating dinner in the hotel lobby. Englewood, Hackensack, Fort Lee and the Hudson waterfront are all close enough that we can use Teaneck as our starting point and go find somewhere much more interesting to play.
Mahwah & Ramsey
Mahwah | Ramsey | Montvale | Park Ridge
Up in Mahwah and Ramsey, Bergen County trades some of its city-adjacent bustle for a quieter, more suburban feel.
This area has plenty of hotels for business travelers and longer stays, but it also puts us close to the Ramapo Mountains when we want something quieter than the Route 4 and Route 17 chaos farther south.
We can keep things cozy with dinner and an easy night in, explore one of the little downtowns nearby, or turn the date into something seasonal. Let’s go on a tour of the fall foliage! When winter rolls around, Campgaw even gives us the opportunity to discover whether snow tubing is adorable and romantic or simply an elaborate way to watch me scream.
Northern Bergen County is especially nice when you’re looking for something that feels relaxed and suburban instead of surrendering to the bustle of the city.
The Meadowlands
East Rutherford | Rutherford | Carlstadt | Hasbrouck Heights
Coming into town for a game, concert or event? This is probably where we’ll find each other.
The Meadowlands has one of Bergen County’s biggest concentrations of hotels, and between MetLife Stadium and American Dream, it’s incredibly easy to build an entire date without traveling very far.
American Dream is also basically a playground for grown-ups who refuse to act their age. Mini golf? Yes. Indoor skiing? Maybe you can convince me. Aquarium? Absolutely. Spending an embarrassing amount of time trying to win something stupid? Almost certainly.
And after we’ve exhausted ourselves pretending we’re twelve, we can get dinner and retreat somewhere considerably more grown-up.
What a Bergen County Date Can Look Like
Being close to home gives me the luxury of being spontaneous.
We can get dressed up and have an actual date night, see who’s performing at bergenPAC, spend the afternoon at SoJo, eat our way through Fort Lee, or go play somewhere ridiculous at American Dream.
We can also do absolutely none of those things.
Some nights are made for ordering dinner, putting on something comfy, finding a movie neither of us is particularly committed to watching, and enjoying the fact that there’s nowhere else we’re supposed to be.
I love dates with a little personality. Fancy is wonderful when we’re in the mood for fancy. Silly is wonderful when we’re in the mood for silly. And cozy will probably always have my heart.
The best plan is the one that actually sounds fun to both of us!
Planning a Bergen County Date
Because Bergen County is my backyard, meeting here is usually pretty simple.
When you inquire, tell me where you’ll be staying and how much time you’d like together. If you already have an idea in mind, I want to hear it! Dinner reservations, concert tickets, a spa afternoon, a ridiculous activity you’ve been dying to try — surprise me.
If planning isn’t your superpower, that’s okay too.
Give me a little bit about what you enjoy and the kind of mood you’re imagining, and I’ll happily help us come up with something. I have spent an unreasonable amount of time finding fun things to do around New Jersey and would be honored to be your tour guide.
